The Boomerang Nebula by zebravissimo The Boomerang Nebula by zebravissimo
THE BOOMERANG NEBULA

Sorry for the update, but a print is now available.

Comments

Just getting in the spaceartist groove... yeah. New border style, will probably be using this on most future space arts.

This is definately a new milestone in personal art achievement, passing everything I've done and leaving it far, far behind. The planet still isn't mine, but I have now made some and will be using those as well in furture pieces.

PS. The Boomerang Nebula is a real place, apparantly it's the coldest area in the known Universe. Gets to -300 C or something. Obviously plenty of artistic license taken here.

Details
Program - Photoshop CS2
Nebula - done from scratch, mostly brushwork and some cloud manip
Original resolution - 2400 x 3600
Planet - *Mr-Frenzy
Time taken - 20 hours spaced over a week or so

FULLVIEW, IT'S DEFINATELY WORTH IT

Actually, it gets at 1°K, that's one degree over absolute zero :D

Anyway, nice CG! But I can't quite get where's Boomerang Neb, is he Earth supposed to be freezing?

I'm very excited to see more space genre work :) this really is excellent - the nebula itself reminds me of the Northern Lights. I think that the planet is a bit iffy, it seems to have very contrasting colors, but since it's not yours, that's fine ;) Beautiful work!

Very nice nebula, good use of colors too, maybe you should add more stars, but it is very nice that way!

Man, this could be a master piece, but you have screwed the planet - too many colours, too high noise level. And those two little moons on it, this picture doesn't really need them. Also, there are few spots at the nebula, which could use some color/soft light layers, since it's way too desaturated.

P.S I'm not usually harsh when giving comments, but I sense you really can achieve a lot, so I'll do my best at helping you.

Great man, you improve I says. Tho you need to learn the secrets of soft light and color layers. Rawr.

I do :) I just felt that the nebula was good enough, so that's what I didn't change.

WOOOOW its Incredible.
I like the the Nebula, and all planets.
But i don't like the "central colored planete" (except the clouds, they are fine), because there is to much "noise", or maybe a too less resolution.
And i like the "fusion" between the planet and the nebula, i can't explain that, but its like the nubale belong to the planete...
Great Work (even i don't like the central planete).
