Nice blending, nice colors, nice planets, nice TG. The planet's bit of blending on the TG horizon could be changed ever so slightly but it's hard to say how.

Nice piece!

*corrects you*

I got them from *Mr-Frenzy and they are different planets... I didn't just duplicate one of them or anything :D I dunno, I guess he wanted to make them Earth-like!

Ah, I see. I'd really suggest making your own planets though, givesd you more control and allows for more variety. Just a thought.

And I must say, it's a really nice image, though I'd have personally chosen to drop the stars and lower the opacity on the gradient.

OK, thanks for the critique! Yeah I've tried making planets lots before but I can never find textures big enough :(

I love the symmetry... a very balanced piece... I like the transition from space to land... A good amount of detail is placed on each part of the transition...

Are those clouds generated? If they are, they are incredible...

Overall... Nice piece...

Vivid color
Great detail
Good symmetry

Thank you!! No, the clouds aren't genereated... have to wait till TGD for that... they come from a stock image.

On the closest planet where the edge gets bright, it seems that the planet outline goes from smooth to rough, may want to fix that, and the light behind it that seems to fade away faster at the top.
Also, the sun compared to its relection seems a little small, either make the reflection a little bigger of the sun a little smaller

Other than that, I cant find anything wrong with it, good job ;)

OK... ;) I don't like really big sun reflections but yeah I probably made a bit too small this time :D

AH PRETTY! <3
How do you merge the terrain to the sky with clouds so well? (since you say the clouds are from a photo?)

Well my son... (lol) ... or daughter... or whatever... the bit that I rendered in Terragen went from the bottom of the water to a bit over top of the sun, so I got in everything that I needed in one shot. Now I rendered it at 2000 x 1500 becaue my computer's still pretty slow, so I basically made a new piece at 2000 x 3000, dragged the rendered piece in it to the bottom, so I have the Terragen part, and a big blank space up top. Then I used the eyedropper tool to get the exact colour of the sky above the sun, set the other colour to black, and made a gradient from the top of the new piece right down to where the Terragen layer was. Now, there was still some wonky bits here and there where the sky merged with the space, so I merged all layers, selected the sky, and did a gaussain blur move, to eliminate any problems with the gradient. From there I could adjust my levels, brightness, etc.
For the clouds, I selected around the clouds in the original picture, dragged them it, and set the blending mode to Lighten, to make them blend in with the sky. Some close-up erasing was required, but that's the basic gist of it.

Whew...

great mate. Only criticism is that it changes between black skies and blue skies too quickly. Sunset would have been move realistic...
